Branom Instrument property is sold

SEATTLE — An industrial/office building at 5500 Fourth Ave. S. has sold for $4.5 million, according to King County records. The seller was the Branom family, which had owned the property for decades. It’s been the longtime home to Branom Instrument Co., which was established in 1947.

The buyer was JREA Real Estate LLC, associated with environmental chemist Friedman & Bruya, which is now based in Interbay. David Butler and Scott Clements of Orion Commercial Partners represented the buyer. Public records indicate a loan from First Citizens Bank & Trust.

Kevin Skillestad and Ed Hogan of Neil Walter Co. represented the seller. The property, on the corner of South Lucile St., had been listed for about nine months. The deal was worth around $396 per square foot. The asking price was $334 per square foot, or about $3.8 million.

Developed in 1965, the 11,400-square foot building occupies about half an acre. It’s a few blocks west of downtown Georgetown.

Friedman & Bruya was established in 1985. It specializes in regulatory and specialty environmental testing.
